Cutting Edge

Learn Figure Skating with Professional Coaches

The Cutting Edge Figure Skating Club is a bridge between ‘TheIceRink’ Skating School and private coaching.
Skaters are coached in small groups.
Basic skating skills are required ie; forwards, backwards, cross-overs – these can be acquired by enrolling at  ‘TheIceRink’ Skating Academy.

Cutting Edge is for members who have started skating and whose aim is to have fun and work towards attaining their first level (The South African Figure Skating Association, to which Cutting Edge is affiliated, has a Skills Level structure).

Cutting Edge has its own syllabus contained in a manual which is given to each skater upon enrolment.

Your own skates are required.

Cutting Edge Class and Practice Times

Lessons are given every 20 minutes for an hour on Monday evenings from 18h15 and Saturday mornings from 6h45, depending on ice availability.
Skaters should arrive at the rink earlier so as to allow for a warm up on the ice before their class starts.
Skaters will be divided into different time slots according to their skill level.

Skaters can practice on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings with group lessons provided during the times as per the Calendar.

Fee Structure

The fees payable can be seen on the Fees page.
