Clubs

The following clubs are affiliated to the GNFSA, click on their respective links for more details:

Cutting Edge Club:
Prospective members and skaters without an official skating level are invited to join this club. Club members train on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings and is an introduction to the Gauteng North Figure Skating Association.

The primary emphasis is on on fun figure skating development with the club performing a program at our our annual fun skate events, namely the WINTER ON ICE (July) and CHRISTMAS ON ICE (December) shows. It also provides the perfect point of entry for skaters and parents to decide whether to join any other club which focuses more on obtaining skating levels for future competitive skating.

Club Applications

Clubs will have to apply and re-apply annually in February to become members of the GNFSA, with membership from 1 April – 31 March of each year (or until the GNFSA accepts or withdraws a club’s membership).

Requirements for Clubs to apply/re-apply for membership:
1.  Proof of payment of affiliation fee.
2.  Constitution / Founding documents / CIPC form.
3.  Proof of banking account in the name of the entity (not older than 3 months).

Fees Payable

Members are reminded that fees (more details below) are payable and invoiced seperately by the following service providers:

1. The GNFSA (fee structure below)
Annually:  Affiliation Fee
Monthly: Ices Fees

2. Clubs / Coaches (respective fees below)
Annually: Affiliation Fee
Monthly: Club fees & Coaching fees

1.  GNFSA Fee Structure – Effective 1 June, 2018

The current fee structure is valid until the 30th of June 2019. There is currently a 50% discount on fees for NEW MEMBER applications valid for 6 months from registration!

The summary of the current GNFSA Fee Structure below must be read it in conjunction with the terms as described in more detail in the FAQ page regarding annual affiliation and monthly ice fees.

Annual affiliations (Membership to the GNFSA) needs to be applied for annually in February when members will receive a renewal notice via email. All new and existing members will be invoiced in March following the online registration / update of information process.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • The fees below are payable to the Gauteng North Figure Skating Association (GNFSA) into the bank account mentioned below for affiliation & ice fees.
  • The respective clubs charge additional fees to join them. Kindly contact them directly regarding the amounts payable to them and what is included in the fees. test

Annual Affiliation Fees: 

An annual affiliation fee is payable for the year for membership to the GNFSA and the SAFSA, valid until the 31st of March each year. This money goes towards the management of the structure, auditing purposes as well as organising training camps and competitions.

Parents of skaters can apply for voting membership in order to have voting rights at meetings and to be able to become committee members. Non voting parents are not liable for monthly fees.

Monthly Ice Fees

Skating members and coaches are invoiced on a monthly basis for ICE FEES according to the times and number of times you skate. It becomes better value for money to train more often with the benefit of improving your skills much quicker.

  • SINGLE PATCH FEES:  Skaters will be only be charged a single patch fee if they skate only once a month (for instance as a guest).

2.  Clubs

2.1  CUTTING EDGE CLUB

Affiliation Fee: R 200

An annual affiliation fee is payable for the year for membership to the Cutting Edge Club, valid until the 31st of March each year. This money goes towards the management of the structure, auditing purposes as well as organising training camps and competitions.

Monthly Club Fee: R 250

Skating members are invoiced on a monthly basis for irrespective of the number of times you skate.
